Run two Warp accounts on Mac
Warp keeps one signed-in account and one settings profile per install. A MacDupl instance is a second, genuinely separate Warp — its own sign-in, its own workflows and settings, its own Dock icon — running at the same time as your first. It's on MacDupl's native tier, so it ships as Beta.

What you get
- Separate accounts. Each instance holds its own Warp sign-in, so a work account and a personal one can both stay signed in.
- Separate settings and workflows. Themes, keybindings and saved workflows are isolated per instance.
- Its own Dock icon. Colour-tinted, so the right terminal is one click away.
- Nearly free on disk. Instances are APFS copy-on-write copies, sharing disk blocks with the original app.
Warp is native-tier, the same isolation strategy verified hands-on for Telegram, Zoom, Tailscale, CapCut and Spotify — but Warp specifically hasn't been through that verification pass, so it carries the tier's default “Beta” label instead of an app-specific one. Run the 3-day trial to see exactly how your installed Warp is classified.
- Warp hasn't been through MacDupl's hands-on verification pass, so it ships with the native tier's baseline Beta status instead of an app-specific verified badge.
- Native-tier isolation runs each instance under its own user-level home directory, the same mechanism that keeps Warp's sign-in state and history from crossing into the original.
How to set it up
- Pick the app
Open MacDupl and choose Warp from the list of apps installed on your Mac. - Name and colour it
Call it “Work”, “Personal” or a client's name, and give it one of nine icon tints. - Hit Create
About two seconds later there's a new Warp in your Dock — sign into the second Warp account — workflows and settings stay separate from the original.
Questions about Warp
Why not just sign out and back in?
Signing into a second Warp account normally signs you out of the first. A MacDupl instance keeps both accounts signed in at once, each in its own app.
Is Warp verified, or Beta by default?
Warp is on MacDupl's native tier, labelled Beta as a whole, and it hasn't gone through our own hands-on verification pass — so its status reflects the tier default, not a tested claim about Warp specifically. Run the 3-day trial to see how it behaves on your Mac.
Are my saved workflows shared between instances?
No. Each instance keeps its own isolated data, so workflows, themes and history stay separate.
Does the App Store version work?
Warp doesn't ship through the Mac App Store — it's a direct download from warp.dev, and that's the build MacDupl clones.
